Off to the Grandparents House We Go!

Marian McQuade of Oak Hill, West Virginia, has been recognized nationally by the United States as the founder of National Grandparents Day. Her goal, to educate the youth in our communities the important contributions seniors have made throughout history. She also urged the youth to “adopt” a grandparent, not just for one day a year, but for a lifetime.
In February, 1977, Congressional legislation was passed proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day, Grandparents Day. The statute cites the day’s purpose as: “…to honor grandparents, to give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children’s children, and to help children become aware of strength, information, and guidance older people can offer”.
Do you remember the primer books many of us first learned to read? Remember “Fun with Dick & Jane”? These books came out after the Egyptians stop writing on walls. We experienced so many adventures with Dick, Jane and little sister Sally. See Dick. See Dick Run. Run Dick Run. Run, run, Run. These books were created in the 1930’s and are now referred to as vintage.
What I remember most about these books were the family trips to see the grandparents on the farm and all their many adventures, not forgetting all the good things grandmother baked for the children. You could almost smell the aroma of warm apple pie as it sat on the window sill to cool. These grandparents were perfect, giving the children a perfect balance of direction, discipline and love.
How will your grandchildren remember you? Will it be a fairytale? Will it be filled with expensive gifts, but no real connection? Will it be filled with loneliness, longing and regret? Or will it be filled with fun, laughter, adventure and love? We have an opportunity to create a legacy for our grandchildren, even changing our legacy in this moment, it is never too late.
I am a grandmother to 3-year-old O’Farrell and there is another grandson due January 31st. My daughter gave my mother her Grandparent’s Day gift earlier this week. When the sonogram determined it was indeed another boy, she told her, his name is William, after my father. This brought my mother to tears and to me as well, when I heard.
I can’t wait to tell little William how his great-grandfather was a social activist, how he stood up to injustice even when he was confronted with racism. He lost his leg in WWII, never honored with a Purple Heart and still he stood to make this a better country for our future, for his name sake, and everyone’s grandchildren.
Now it’s my time to create a legacy for my grandsons. What I know for sure is I’ll buy them toys, but they will also have an educational value. I will roll around on the floor and then worry about how to get back up. I’ll take them to the movies, feed them too much junk food and allow them to stay up way past their bedtime.
I’ll also strive to walk my talk as a Lightworker. I’ll teach them they are perfect just as they are. I’ll teach them the Law of Causality, so they know they will reap what they sow. I’ll teach them that Jesus the Christ was a wonderful ascended master, but not the only one. I’ll teach them we are all created equal and we are our brother’s keeper. I’ll teach them we are spiritual beings having a human experience. I’ll teach them we all come to this life with a purpose and that purpose is of service to the one race, the human race. I’ll teach them that God can look like anything they want, including being a Her. And lastly, I’ll teach them that just as Spirit loves them unconditionally, so do I.
For those of you who have no grandchildren, find a child or children that need that special kind of love that only YOU can provide.
For YOU grandparents and great-grand, enjoy your special day and know that whatever legacy you leave for your grandchildren, it will be enough.

Saving Japan

 I am a 33 year buddhist, studying Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism. I have a fond connection to this country and its people, although I never have the fortune of visiting there. I’ve found that the Japanese are a very nobel,  proud and wise people. Since World War II, they have excelled at everything they do and have become a leader on the world stage.

This buddhism was brought to this country by Japanese War brides. With broken english they spread the word of this teaching, slowly touching the lives of  people in this country and countries all over the world. Some of our well know members are entertainer Tina Turner, actor Patrick Duffy,  music man Herbie Hancock. It changed my life and I will be forever grateful to the War Brides that taught me and set a foundation that has enabled me to become the woman I am today.

Now these people need us in a way that has never been imagined before. The earthquake and tsunami pales in comparison to the potential of  contamination by the nuclear plants. This is not just a country or a continent problem, it’s not about them, it’s about us, all of us.  It is about all of us praying for the protect of our planet.

It isn’t about their religion verses ours; it’s about all of us, hand-in-hand praying for the protection of us all; the goodness of us all; the longevity of us all; and the love of us all. it’s time to pray to the God of your understanding, with all you have, because it is about all we have, in Japan, the USA, and every other place on this earth plane. Shine your light as you pray, allowing others to connect with your light, intensifying your prayers as they continue to multiply; and remember love is the greatest energy of all.

When I think of Cairo…

When I think of Cairo I see pyramids, vibrant colors in bazaars, and heat rising off the sand. There on the bank of the Nile I see history, I see the oldest city on the continent of Africa, I see Giza.  Cairo as old as the Sphinx, monuments from antiquity, all representing a majestic part of our history as the human race.

Now there are no romantic figures, no Indiana Jones to rescue us or them; instead we have images of unrest that bombard us as the pictures go viral.  There’s no escaping the images, a city, a country that has reached the point of no return. What we see is real and dramatic. The country and it’s president have come to a parting of the way as we view the upheaval in Egypt.

I understand change and I understand each human has the right to the best life possible for themselves and their families. Each of us, each community, each country should have the right to decide when and how change should come and what change should look like.

My prayer is for the Egyptians to find their own course, to find their way to freedom, independence, peace and purpose. I pray that as the old guard relinquish power it’s replaced by a forward thinking government that will take Egypt and it’s people toward the dawn of a new era; an era of peace for the next 10,000 years. Egypt, we pray for you, we stand with you and we hold the light as you make your way toward peace.

Hello 2011

I began my New Year blog discussing all the challenges we/I have gone through in 2010. I listed all the “crap”, we are faced with on a daily basis, however, I hadn’t hit the “save draft” key and lost it all; just another example of the “crap” we had to deal with. So, I’m just going to say, HAPPY NEW YEAR, and may 2011 be filled with a lot less “crap”!

This is the Season

Christmas trees, decorations, gift cards, baking, cooking, Santa Claus, traveling, and the money to pay for it all, are you getting overwhelmed yet? If you’re like me, you have “miles to go before you sleep” (that’s a quote from somewhere, but I don’t have enough time to “Google” it).

The answer, take each day as it comes, live in the moment and remember its not about the decorations nor shopping for presents (that will be returned during the next shopping day). Try moving away from the “woulda” and “shoulda” and do what makes your heart sing. Try spending time with the family preparing food or presents together. Let your young ones know they can’t get everything they see on TV, and instead, give to the homeless, that are in desperate need of items to keep them warm and/or in need of food. They would appreciate anything relating to the holidays. They are someones, father/mother, son/daughter, they too  need to belong to a family, to a community. Why not make them a part of your community, all you have to do is care. If you choose to take the path of giving instead of getting, you just may have the the best holiday ever!

Completion

On Sunday, 10-10-10 I was ordained as a minister from Universal Harmony Foundation. This has been a goal I set five years ago. There have been many stops and starts; challenges; upheaval and fear. There was the challenge of merging my 33 yr. Buddhist practice with the metaphysical christian church I have been attending for the last five years.

As it turned out, I could indeed merge the two and I believe it has made me a more well-rounded person with experience in different religious modalities. I am better equipped to meet people where they are in their understanding of our Creator.

Many thanks to the family members, friends, and Harmony Metaphysical Church members who have helped me along the way. I pledge to do my best in whatever the future holds for me. My love for all of creation continues to grow in a way that amazes me. When it’s all said and done only the love is real…everything else is illusion.

I ask Father/Mother God to walk with me as I walk with others, making me an instrument for their work.

Hate Has Many Faces

I checked my Facebook account today and found a comment from a dear friend and I had to follow it. If you have not received it, please look up: Petition to remove facebook group praying for President Obama’s death‘s.

I don’t know why I was shocked, but I was. I am a very vocal Lightworker and a very vocal supporter of our President, Barack Obama. From the first time I heard him speak at the Democratic Convention when he was just a junior senator from Chicago, I KNEW this man had a destiny for this country and this planet. 

As a Lightworker, I believe we are going through an energy shift that is happening to our  planet and all of humankind. As we approach 2012, we as a planet have much changing to do before we are ready for the planetary shift. What that means is all the crap that isn’t working for the planet must rise to the top like a festering sore. We must rip off the old bandages that kept the wounds filled with poison and allow all the crap to rise to the surface, then the wounds can heal.

The same holds true for all the corruption, greed and mismanagement of our financial, corporate and governmental leaders. I believe President Obama is the leader to take us into a greener, more compassionate,  generous and peaceful world. There will come a time when our grandchildren will ask us how could this country be opposed to national healthcare. There will come a time when those with healthcare will not fight tooth and nail to keep those without healthcare uninsured. There will come a time when conservation is a no brainer and the need to ban nuclear weapons will become a distant memory. I believe this planet and humankind will owe President Obama a place is history that will be unmatched in our 2,000 year history.

Until that time, we must fight the hate and fear that surrounds our President. I will be the first to tell you the destruction that George W. Bush did to this country is absolutely unforgivable, but we didn’t wish him dead. The financial and corporate “fat cats” raped and pillaged this country in the last 10 years, but we didn’t wish them dead. When the victims of Katrina cried in despair for five days before the government finally jumped into action, we didn’t wish him dead. Nor did we wish him dead when we had the love and support of the planet after 9/11 and squandered that support when we went into Iraq, driving oil prices skyward, instead of looking for the terrorists that caused such devastation, the terrorists that we are still hunting.  

Now, there is hatred being shouted in churches and on the streets. I won’t say all of those involved in the “Tea Party” wish our President dead, but there is no question that hate and lightly veiled racism is a part of their platform. The hatred goes beyond his political stands, it goes to his ethnicity and religion. Color is a very big factor in this hatred, although his mother was white. No matter how many times it’s said, the President is a Christian, yet the hate mongers are also Christians spew their fear and hatred, what does that say for their  Christian beliefs?  Racism is alive and well in America; ironically, if people of color talk about it, we are playing the race card.

Why is it so difficult for us to provide healthcare for those of us who aren’t covered? Yes, government is growing and I can’t even begin to understand what a trillion dollars looks like, but we were in the black when George W. came into office and we are now trillions of dollars in debt. 

So, what can we do to support our President? I believe we start by signing petitions to stop websites of hatred, like the one on Facebook (This isn’t about Facebook, I’m actually enjoying being part of the Facebook community.) however, it is our duty to shut down this type of fear and hatred. It is the right of our children and grandchildren to have a planet for them, one that is safe and thriving. The insanity must stop. The hatred must stop. The fear must stop. We have to be prepared for what is ahead of us as a planet, because it’s all we have. Lets teach our children love and peace in our churches and our streets. Let’s use this fear and hatred as teachable moments for our children. If any of this resonates with you, please sign this petition and pass it on. Regardless of how you feel about President Obama’s politics, pray for his safety, because that is a direct link to our future. I ask that Father-Mother God, Jeshua, the Christ Consciousness, Master Nichiren, Master Buddha  and all beings of light, love and ascension, named and unnamed protect our President and protect our world.  Remember, we are not human beings having a spiritual experience but spiritual beings having a human experience.

Union With All There Is

As we move through this year we are bombarded by the nation’s news, unemployment; healthcare; home foreclosures; republicans vs. democrats; and ethnic slurs hurled at our president  in 2010.  On a global scale we have war, famine, genocide, poverty, rape and devastation from acts of nature.  Could Mother Nature be telling us something? What this quote suggests is, through our unity across the planet we can not only survive but flourish. Connecting with the “God of your understanding” is connection with the Creator AND our fellow (wo) man. What kind or world would we be living in IF we looked at our similarity and not our differences?

Brave Souls

2010 is being referred to by the Beings of Light in the Realms of Illumined Truth as the year of manifestation. I know from outer appearances things seem confusing and even overwhelming, but day-by-day we are moving forward in the Light. Please take a few deep breaths, and feel your consciousness expanding to take in the bigger picture. In the midst of the chaos, miracles are happening.

The Beings of Light have revealed to us over the years that very evolved souls have volunteered to embody on Earth in the areas that are reflecting the greatest pain and suffering. The hope was that these souls would have a better chance of awakening quickly. This would create an upward flow of consciousness that would lift Humanity’s focus of attention, thus helping us to awaken and to reconnect with the Realms of Illumined Truth.

The painful experiences that are being pushed to the surface all over the world involve lifetimes worth of hatred and violence. These distorted behavior patterns have been perpetuated by our fear-based human egos for aeons of time. Since we are all One, every particle of Life is interrelated, interconnected, and interdependent. There is no separation. What affects one facet of Life affects all Life. What this means in very practical terms is that the accumulation of Humanity’s negative thoughts, feelings, words, and actions has to be brought to the surface and transmuted back into Light if ANY of us are going to be ready to make the shift into the 5th-Dimensional Realms of Light.

Energy cannot be destroyed. It can only be transformed. We cannot just say “cancel, cancel” and clear lifetimes worth of our egos’ abuse of power. We have to become aware of our past transgressions of the Laws of Divine Love,  Reverence for Life, and Oneness, so that we can invoke the Light of God and transmute these gross mutations back into their original perfection.

Humanity has created every abominable human miscreation. We have done this by misusing the precious atomic and subatomic particles and waves of energy our Father-Mother God have given to us as our Lifeforce. Through our free-will choices, we accepted our gift of Life and then distorted that harmonious energy into all manner of pain and suffering through the misuse of our thoughts, words, feelings, and actions. Now, in order for us to move into the 5th Dimension with the rest of our Solar System, there is no other option than for us to experience the results of our miscreations, so we can transmute them back into Light.

Knowing the urgency of the hour, our Father-Mother God issued a Cosmic Edict that gave highly evolved souls permission to intervene in the purging and healing of Humanity’s miscreations in unprecedented ways. For the first time ever, these selfless Sons and Daughters of God were given permission to embody on Earth and to join their efforts with the efforts of the Children of Earth. They were allowed to actually take on some of the mass consciousness and the collective karmic liabilities Humanity has been miscreating for millions of years. This meant that these evolved souls would have to embody in areas where the densest frequencies of pain and suffering were being played out in the lives of Humanity.

These powerful souls willingly embodied in every corner of the world. Many of them made the sacrifice of incarnating into the most oppressive frequencies of darkness on the planet. They knew that the areas where Humanity’s human egos were inflicting atrocities upon each other would have to be exposed in the Light of God and brought to the surface to be healed. Our Father-Mother God and the Beings of Light believed that these highly evolved souls would be able to transcend the pain more easily than the Children of Earth who had been beaten into the pits of despair by these painful situations for millennia.

When we look historically at the horrific experiences Humanity has gone through during the past 100 years, we get a glimpse of the sacrifice our sisters and brothers have made on our behalf. They assisted the Children of Earth and brought our human miscreations to the surface by volunteering to experience devastating wars, religious persecution, plagues, natural disasters, poverty, hunger, hatred, greed, corruption, violence, and the unbridled abuse of power by our human egos. Through their lives and often through their deaths, these precious souls brought to the attention of Humanity the rampant miscreations our human egos were inflicting on this planet.

Some of these selfless souls awakened in time to consciously remember why they were going through such painful experiences, but many of them did not. Nevertheless, they God Victoriously went through the experiences that they volunteered to heal. Their sacrifice purged a great deal of Humanity’s collective negativity and catapulted the Children of Earth forward in the Light.

The events that are taking place in Haiti are part of this necessary purging process. This catastrophic event occurred in Divine Timing. On December 31, 2009, we experienced one of the most powerful Full Moon Lunar Eclipses we have ever encountered. The influx of Light from this Eclipse blessed the planet with powerful frequencies of healing and transformation. We were told by the Beings of Light that this Light would increase daily and hourly until the New Moon Solar Eclipse, which would take place January 14-15, 2010. The influx of Light from that Eclipse would empower all of the patterns of perfection for the New Earth and catapult this planet forward in the Light, thus paving the way for the physical manifestation of the New Earth.

On January 12, 2010, Haiti had the most devastating earthquake she had ever experience. This tragedy instantly drew the attention of the world to the most downtrodden and needy people in the western hemisphere. In the midst of the chaos Humanity opened our hearts and reached out to our sisters and brothers. Our differences became irrelevant and the Oneness of Life began to register in the hearts and minds of the masses of Humanity in profound ways. The love and compassion we developed when we witnessed the pain and suffering of our sisters and brothers softened our hearts and allowed more of  God’s Love and Healing Light to flow into the Earth.

The collective consciousness of Humanity reaching out in love and compassion to our less fortunate sisters and brothers created a Chalice of Light that is now cradling the Earth and all her Life. This cup of Humanity’s collective consciousness has created an Open Door that no one can shut. The Light of God is now pouring in, through, and around every particle of Life on this sweet Earth. Humanity is being lifted up in energy, vibration, and consciousness in unprecedented ways.

When the powerful Solar Eclipse took place on January 14-15, 2010, Humanity’s open hearts and our deep feelings of love and compassion allowed a greater influx of God’s Love and Healing than the Earth has ever been able to receive. The precious souls who embodied in Haiti, and those who were there to assist with this facet of the unfolding Divine Plan, are blessed for the extreme sacrifice they made on behalf of all Humanity.

The people who left the physical plane were escorted into the Heavenly Realms by Legions of Angels. Those who were left behind have a long road ahead of them, but Beloved Mother Mary has enveloped each one in a mantle of Divine Comfort and Love. Angels from her Regal Court will remain with every person in Haiti to help them with their healing and transformation. Haiti will never again be the forgotten and abandoned country she was in the past. The masses of Humanity have been lifted up through this experience, and the Oneness of ALL Life has been encoded in the consciousness of every man, woman, and child in previously unknown ways.

We are moving forward in the Light at warp speed. Now is the time for YOU to be the force of Divine Light you are destined to be. Stay focused on the Light. Your time is at hand!

BLESSINGS TO YOU FOR 2010

After all the rush, stress, hustle and bustle we have made it through Christmas 2009. If you’re like me, the holidays came much too fast and caught me ill-equipped, again. The 365 days we had in preparation just didn’t seem to be enough time. Nevertheless, me and millions of my unprepared friends, made it though. We decorated, shopped and cooked. We sent greeting cards to celebrate Christmas, Hanukah and/or Kwanzaa; and the most important thing was, as a whole, we were nicer to each other as we carried out these tasks. 

We greeted each other with respect and salutations. We departed with a cheerful, “Happy Holidays”. There was much more solidarity and unity as citizens of this country. This respect crossed over racial, religious and social economic lines. For a time, albeit a short time, we were of one accord.

As the New Year quickly approaches I hope we can take some of this good will forward to 2010. The coming year has been predicted to hold a lot of the same challenges of 2009, as well as some incredible blessings. We will face tragedy and redemption; love and hate; obstacles and victory; war and peace; fear and bravery; hunger and hope. Through all of this, my hope is that we learn from all of these life lessons. One way or the other we WILL go through life lessons and we have a choice to make.  We can either go kicking and screaming, or we can make the best of each situation we encounter and grow from it.

My prayer for you is to find the love, peace, joy and laughter that can be found in your everyday life and living. Know you are not alone, because you are a beloved member of this collective. Spirit flows through each of us, connecting us, and this makes each a unique and valuable part of our global community.  May you and yours receive all the blessings the Creator holds for you in 2010.
